Andre lives in the Summerwood community and is thrilled to be a part of Redemption Square to compliment the experience we offer with arts and creative culture.
Inspired by impressionist artwork, Andre considers herself an Abstract Expressionist Artist. She takes pride and pleasure being passionate, creative, breaking rules and pushing limits in the artistic arena.
Self-taught, she loves to play and experiment with mixed media creating layers, heavy textures and markings using acrylics, spray paints, paint pens, wax, crayons, collage, papers, stickers and just about anything she can recycle and repurpose into art.
Her current artistic focus is on creating a “REDEMPTION” series as a shout out to her new home here at Redemption Square. The 12 pieces of artwork featured in the series are old artwork from her “junk pile” that has been repurposed and reimagined into true art. The theme is, just as art can be redeemed, symbolically, so can we as individuals. We can all add a fresh layer of paint to recreate ourselves at any point, as desired.
Other inspirations come from her Hawaiian roots and husband’s homeland of New Zealand which has influenced her art with beautiful impressions of oceans, landscapes, flowers, Polynesian symbols and markings, and her signature-suns and sunsets.
Andre’s mission is to use her art and other gifts to make a positive impact in the world. Her Motto: Be the change. Live your legacy every day. Leave a legacy; a colorful one that cannot be erased.
